Sparkling Bali: A Futuristic Vacation Villa

Residential Apartment with Avant-Garde Design

Opening the roof of the building, it can see the changing sky from day to night. The designer has implanted the futuristic and abstract metaphors of nature into the traditional old mansion. Fresh sunlight flows along the stairway of the patio and reflects on the steps built for the wine collection. The silver metal panels and lights symbolize the brilliant waves of the coast, interweaving the function in the avant-garde future imagination.

The Sparkling Bali residential apartment, designed by Lo Fang Ming, is a stunning example of avant-garde design that combines futuristic elements with the charm of a traditional old mansion. The unique feature of this design is the opening of the roof, allowing residents to witness the changing sky from day to night. This creates a dynamic and ever-changing atmosphere within the living space.

One of the standout features of Sparkling Bali is the incorporation of natural light. Sunlight flows along the stairway of the patio, reflecting off the steps that have been specially designed to showcase a wine collection. This not only adds a touch of elegance to the space but also creates a seamless connection between nature and the interior design.

The silver metal panels and lights used throughout the apartment symbolize the brilliant waves of the coast, bringing a sense of movement and energy to the space. These elements not only serve a functional purpose but also contribute to the avant-garde aesthetic that defines the design.

What sets Sparkling Bali apart from other residential apartments is the owner's exclusive ownership of the top three floors of the building. Lo Fang Ming took on the challenge of transforming the old building into a multi-story high-level vacation villa. Starting with the maintenance of the building structure and basic engineering, the designer pushed the limits of building space to create a truly unique living experience.

The realization of Sparkling Bali involved careful consideration of the existing conditions of the building. The low height and dark interior posed challenges that needed to be overcome. To address these issues, the designer reconstructed parts of the building and plumbing, removing the top floor ceiling to bring in natural light through the glass staircase patio. This allows the light to flow along the transparent glass stairs, illuminating the bedrooms on the second floor and the steps on the first floor. The steps of the staircase have also been cleverly converted into a wine cellar, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal.

In addition to the innovative use of space, the design of Sparkling Bali also focuses on creating a sense of openness and flow. The original entryway corridor, which was narrow and long, has been transformed with the use of a shoe stool, short ark, and mirrors to alleviate the feeling of confinement. The water-corrugated stainless steel surrounding the sofa area adds a touch of elegance and implies a transformation of field properties.

Overall, Sparkling Bali is a testament to Lo Fang Ming's creativity and attention to detail. The design seamlessly combines futuristic elements with the charm of a traditional old mansion, creating a unique living space that is both functional and visually stunning. With its emphasis on natural light, innovative use of space, and avant-garde aesthetic, Sparkling Bali sets a new standard for residential design.

Sparkling Bali is a winner of the prestigious A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
